Diagnostic veterinary pathology; diseases of zoo, wildlife and exotic animals; hepatic pathology; diagnostic immunohistochemistry; viral-induced hepatocarcinogenesis. Pathology of animal models of human disease.

 

The immunohistochemical laboratory's primary emphasis is to provide immunohistochemical staining of primarily formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue sections as an adjunct to diagnostic anatomic pathology, necropsy and biopsy specimens, and for research investigators who want to evaluate cell/tissue markers relevant to their projects. The diagnostic laboratory's emphasis is on anatomic pathology of postmortem and surgical biopsy specimens from client-owned animals seen at the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital.

Training post-graduate instructors in veterinary and zoologic pathology; instruction of senior veterinary students in postmortem and biopsy techniques; instruction of 2nd year veterinary students in endocrine, GI, hepatic, hemolymphatic and pancreatic pathology. Anatomic Pathology clinical service in surgical and post mortem pathology.

Natural disease in domestic, non-domestic, zoo animals and wildlife.

Hepatic and endocrine diseases.
