Investigation of new treatment protocols for dogs and cats with naturally occurring cancers. Treatment modalities of interest are biologic response modifiers, metronomic chemotherapy and conventional chemotherapy. Primary tumors of interest are canine osteosarcoma, hemangiosarcoma and transitional cell carcinoma.

Oncology: 3rd year didactic lectures. Clinical oncology: 4th year clinical rotation. Oncology residency coordinator. Clinical oncology section head.

Clinical communication skills: Mandatory lectures in 1st and 2nd years, elective courses in the 3rd and 4th years.

Biology and treatment of canine osteosarcoma, lymphoma and hemangiosarcoma. Particular interest in finding ways to improve and prolong quality of life in cancer patients. I am also very interested in improving and enhancing communication between veterinarians and their clients.
